Apple starts selling Ultra 2 and Series 9 watches again

Apple starts selling watches again after a US prohibition is lifted by an appeals court.

In a legal battle over patents that had pulled the company’s newest smartwatches off the market and put its estimated $17 billion in revenue at risk, Apple Inc. prevailed in court and was granted a temporary respite from a US sales restriction.

The tech giant had submitted an urgent plea to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, requesting that the agency revoke an order from the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), which had determined that Apple had violated the patents of Masimo, a company located in Irvine, California.

The blood oxygen feature-equipped Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 will once again be available for purchase in the United States starting today at Apple Stores and online at 12 p.m. PT tomorrow.According to Apple, it is pursuing a number of technological and legal alternatives.

In an effort to address the problem, Apple has also created a software update for the Apple Watch. The US customs agency received the updated design from it, and it was announced that the government would make a decision on Jan. 12 regarding whether or not to approve the changes.
